Peter Marcus, the vice president of communications for Terrapin, a Grand Rapids-based grower and processor is teaming up with other Michigan-based cannabis businesses to pay it forward by helping to train the workforce of the future of the cannabis industry.

Together with Mr Rogers, the founder and president of Higher Learning Institutions, they are filling the gaps when it comes to training workers in the cannabis industry to prepare future leaders in this rapidly expanding market.

Their scholarship program will go on to help individuals that have suffered from the adverse affects of this war on drugs that have often served time for possession.

JARS Cannabis, another Michigan grower is throwing funds into the hat as well. Together we all can make a positive difference in this industry.

Marijuana has suffered a bad rap for too long, and those that were incarcerated for possession, if interested, can apply for the scholarship and can be trained to learn a trade that will now allow them to learn a living.

This is a win-win for all of these growers, addressing the social equity equation while potentially growing their business and reach, is a brilliant solution and it would be great if we saw other growers do the same in their local area.
